Lauren Ramirez, PhD, is a wife, mother, licensed mental health therapist, and lifelong advocate for children and families.

A proud mom to both humans and furbabies, Lauren believes some of life's most meaningful lessons happen in the everyday moments we share with those we love.

Lauren has worked in the mental health field for more than a decade, with a passion for helping children understand their emotions, build healthy coping skills, and navigate the changes and challenges of growing up. She has had the privilege of walking alongside countless children and families through difficult seasons, celebrating growth, and discovering new ways to connect.

More than 10 years ago, Lauren founded a counseling agency with a mission: to help individuals navigate big feelings and help families grow together.

What began as a vision to support individuals and families has grown into a practice serving communities across four locations. Through Luna and Maggie's Grand Adventures, Lauren hopes to extend that work beyond the therapy room and into the homes, classrooms, and everyday lives of children and families. Each story is designed to be approachable and engaging while giving children and the adults who love them a chance to explore feelings, ask questions, and find connection.

At the heart of every Luna and Maggie adventure is a simple hope: that a story can help a child feel understood, give a parent a place to begin, and remind everyone that they don't have to navigate the hard things alone.

Meet the Real
Luna and Maggie

Every great adventure begins with someone special.

Luna and Maggie were two beloved doodles who filled our home with joy, laughter, comfort, and unconditional love. Although they are no longer with us, their love continues to inspire every story in the Luna & Maggie's Grand Adventures series.

As a therapist, I have spent years helping children and families navigate life's hardest moments. After saying goodbye to Luna and Maggie, I realized that the lessons they taught me about love, loyalty, and even grief were lessons worth sharing with others.

These books are my way of honoring them—while helping children discover that even when someone we love is gone, the love we shared never leaves us.

This began as a love letter for Luna and Maggie. Today, it's for you.
